Open RPG Rules was created to give roleplaying gamers a consistent, generic set of rules that could be freely adapted and developed by anyone.  By providing a common base for all genres this rule system allows you to hop between game worlds, without the need to learn new rules.  This is especially helpful to beginning players since learning multiple rules can be overwhelming. It was also our intention to provide gamers a way to keep their favorite games alive, even if the publisher goes under or drops a product line.  With just a little bit of work, just about any current game system can be converted to the Open RPG Rules.  Plus, if there isn't a rule that suits your needs or your game system, create one!  By providing you with a base, you don't have to reinvent the whole system!
